APC's Back in Stock!

We know a lot of you have been waiting a while and we appreciate everyone's patience.
The new batch of APC's have arrived!

Everyone on the waiting lists have been called. We can hold the jeans for only 24 hours then they will have to go back on the floor. Hurry in we only have a couple pair of each size left!

For the women we just received a new batch of AG's.

We have the brand new AG Premiere (high waisted skinny in black velvet!!!
we have the AG Stilt (30" inseam Skinny, regular rise) the AG Kiss (great straight leg) and the infamous AG Club.

Catching Up

Hello all
Sorry it's been a while since the last post. We have a lot to catch up on.

Last Friday was the second installment of our new event: shop+drink+listen
Basically every other Friday from 6P - 8P? we have live D.J.'s (Marcus and Elton) spinning awesome music in the store while you can peruse the latest denim and fashion while sipping a glass of fine wine or a tasty Pabst! The next one will be Friday Nov. 7th. Make sure to sign up on our mailing list and we can remind you!

Coming up in just a couple weeks is a fashion show we are proud to be a part of.
Raw Beauty is featuring several Milwaukee boutiques including yours truly. The proceeds go to benefit Breast Cancer Research.

The latest new Fall 08 for her

It's that time of the year; the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler. For us, that means that Fall 08 merchandise is coming in every other day!

This week, we've received a variety of great new clothes and denim for him and her.
We'll start with her:

The long awaited re-order has arrived for women's Good Society Jeans. We got in the Slim leg (skinny) and the uber popular Straight leg. Both jeans come in the beautiful dry organic raw denim. Good Society is known for the their generous contributions to orphanages in India

We brought back in Spiewak outerwear...why? Because they make amazing coats at great prices. For the ladies we received a knee length nylon puffer coat with a slight "allover" plaid effect. Also a knee length marled brown wool hooded wool coat with a belt at the waist...gorgeous! And finally a marled grey wool "swing" coat inspired by the 1960's era.

New Cheap Monday for her: everything from knit leggings to a beautiful full length black wool coat with satin belt. This collection must be seen to be believed, and of course all at Cheap Mondays good prices.

and for those cool autumnal nights new Coal Headwear. Everything from wool beanies to buttery soft cashmere hats and scarves, all in amazing Fall colors.

New Fall 9/1

What's new in the store:

For the fairer sex we are excited about getting Eryn Brinie in this week. This is a label based out of Korea and is often compared to a "Topshop" type label. Really cute clothes that are dripping with style and fashion...think Alexander Wang just half the price! (even though we love Alexander Wang)

Also for the ladies, we received the much anticipated Hudson Skinny jean with the new back pockets (no flaps). We did have a waiting list for these and I believe most of the people on the list got their sizes, but we did buy more and still have some available in the store, and soon, on line.

For him, we received more of everyone's favorite, RVCA. Great clothes at great prices. This time around, we got our re-order of the grey Chevy Remixes; so all you guys that were waiting on this jean and didn't get it the first time we have more in stock...$75!! We also received an awesome heavy weight flannel in a red plaid, think vintage Woolrich but a third of the price. Some more everyday chinos in black and some updated henleys, great for layering.

Now those of you that know Jesse and I, know we are denim freaks and love finding new limited jeans or just plain hard to get jean companies, especially the Japanese brands or just ones that are made in Japan of raws and/or rinsed denims. Well, we found one...it is very limited and oh so sweet. Cuyo. Made of Zimbabwe Cotton and then hand loomed and constructed in Japan. These jeans are individually abraded to give them a vintage appearance. Each pair takes 1 person 6 hours to abrade. These are beautiful!! They'll be up on the site soon and you can judge for yourself. $355

I think that's it for this round, but I'll be back soon to let you know what Erica and I found in Vegas. I'll also give some sneak peaks at what's coming into the store before it comes online. Also, watch for news on upcoming store events (oh, we have a lot planned for this Fall!!!).

Vegas/Harley Chaos

Hello everyone! Back from the chaos they call Vegas where Erica and I scoured through hundreds upon hundreds of brands for Spring 2009 just for you,(and because it's fun!). We think you're really going to like what we've found! We'll talk more in later posts about all the great new looks and brands we've found.

So, we arrive in Milwaukee with the faint sound of slot machines still ringing in our ears only to be jolted out of our grogginess by the ear crunching sounds of nearly 200,000 Harley Davidson motorcycles as they race up and down the streets of Milwaukee in celebration of HD's 105th Anniversary. Now, if you're a local customer of ours, hopefully you made it down to Brady St. to enjoy the festivities. If you're one of our national/international customers, you need to consider coming in for the 110th, it is a sight to behold!

The coolest thing was to talk to the people from Japan, Australia, Germany, France, and many other far away places, all in town for some fun, food and, of course, drink...and some good shopping at Detour!! Especially the European visitors were loving how strong the Euro is right now compared to the dollar! Many of them were buying American-made jeans (7 for all Mankind, Citizens, Joe's, Rag&Bone, etc...) for half of what they are charging in Europe.

New Fall for him and her (A.P.C., Rag&Bone, Vince, Fluxus etc...)

Finally, after a couple weeks of anticipation, we received our newest A.P.C. re-order!! So now we're fully stocked in the New Standard, Rescue and introducing the New Cure. The new Cure is a slimmer cut than the New Standard. We're very excited to introduce the New Cure for women as well. We had lots of women say it was hard to find A.P.C.'s for them so we decided to give it a try. For women we have size 25 - 30.

We also just received for the guys the new RB15 jean from Rag&Bone. This is the slim straight leg cut. This jean is the dry Japanese selvedge!!! Looks amazing.

From Vince we've received a beautiful Cardi/dress (depending on your mood!). 100% cashmere. We also received a black tunic style top/dress that would look stunning as a dress or pair it with a pair of skinny jeans. Also 100% cashmere.

Our favorite new find is the Fluxus brand. This month Fluxus received a nice write up in the new Nylon Magazine. This super easy to wear brand is truly a new up and comer. We love the finger-less gloves, the infamous "papa" vest (which we are taking pre-orders on the next shipment due to arrive this week, just call the store; 414.273.5156) and the new slouchy "boyfriend" tee with one oversized pocket.

This month we are introducing the new denim brand City of Others to everyone. This brand is launching for this Fall and is the brainchild of the duo behind the cult classic jeans Iron Army. We currently have the Brooklyn Skinny and the Sydney bootcut, both can be seen on our website. The amazing part is that these jeans are only $100!!! This month In-Style magazine chooses them as there favorite jean around the $100 mark. Don't worry guys we have the men's coming in soon!!

And finally for our local customer's...next week Milwaukee will be turned upside down with the celebration of Harley Davidson's 105th Anniversary! The city is expecting at least 100,000 people from around the world to come to Milwaukee for this shindig. Brady St. will no doubt be one of the hubs of activity for the visitors and we know we're going to do our part to make sure everyone has fun! So come on down and enjoy the sights and sounds of Harley bikes and all the characters that go along with them and remember for detour it will still be business as usual. Hope to see you soon.

The inside scoop:
Founder and Designer Moise Emquies set out to be a lawyer but early on switched gears to fashion design on a whim. He’s a natural, entering into the field without any training.

What’s in a name:
Moise spent 10 years looking for his perfect fabric: 50% supima cotton (a luxurious cotton that gives the fabric body) and 50% micro modal (a form of rayon that is super soft and deeply absorbs dyes). With this he asserts he can make the perfect t-shirt, deserving of the name, Splendid - “the ultimate, the best”.

Why we carry it:
Similar to its sister line, ella moss, Splendid is incredibly comfortable and flattering. Vogue agrees and listed it recently on the top 10 t-shirts list at #2 (Neal Sperling was #1).

New Summer Merchandise for him and her

New Diesel for the Guys came in today, it has more of the "old school" Diesel look to it. One jean we're really excited about is the new Thanaz in the 8LP wash (raw grey look), it's a new lower price point, $150, jean that Diesel is doing to compete with the APC's, Good Society and Crates of the world...looks great!

For him we also received some new fitted short sleeve Takel shirts in cowboy styles $68

from Alternative Apparel we received the much anticipated "Man Scarfs" (technically unisex). Lightweight super soft scarves in solids or stripes. $24

For her we finally received our fill-ins on the Citizens of Humanity Faye, Kelly and High Rise Amber Jeans.

Also Fill-ins on the 7 For All Mankind Roxanne Skinny Jean in NYD and Mercer!!!

New Super Cute Ella Moss Cut-out tops have arrived as well as more of the innovative Fluxus Line
